Join a Snowmobile Club June 14, 2006, Long Lake, NY -- The New York State Snowmobile Association wants you to be a snowmobile club member. Snowmobile Clubs are volunteer organizations formed by snowmobilers that establish trails, maintain trails, offer safety courses, provide news to their members, perform search and rescue missions and offer organized events such as rides and trips. Help our clubs keep the 10,000 plus miles of trails in New York open to all snowmobilers. Another incentive to joining a club is a reduced registration fee (read below). Snowmobile fees will increase from the current rate of $45.00 ($35 Trail Fee + $10 Registration Fee) to $100.00 ($90 Trail Fee + $10 Registration Fee) UNLESS the registrant belongs to a snowmobile club affiliated with the New York State Snowmobile Association (NYSSA). In that case the fee will remain at $45.00 for each snowmobile registered to the member, spouse and other members of the same household under the age of 18. Proof of club membership will be the voucher issued. Additional vouchers if needed can be obtained from the club or from NYSSA. Snowmobilers who join a club will receive a voucher from the club; this voucher will be submitted with your registration renewal. There are several ways to obtain the voucher:
To pay the $45, snowmobile registrants must be a member prior to registering their snowmobiles. Current club members will need to renew their club membership for the 2006-07 season.
