New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP) New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation administers the Snowmobile Trail Grant Program. A grant program that allocates funds to local governments that engage in the development and maintenance of snowmobile trails designated as part of the State Snowmobile Trail System. The authorization for the program is found in Article 27 of NY Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation Law.

New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) The department and its programs are authorized and governed by state Environmental Conservation Law, with some programs also governed by federal law. Each program follows regulations codified in 6 New York Codes, Rules and Regulations (6NYCRR).

Adirondack Park Agency (APA) The Adirondack Park Agency was created in 1971 by the New York State Legislature to develop long-range land use plans for both public and private lands within the boundary of the Park. The APA is a New York State governmental agency with an eleven-member Hudson Riverboard, and a staff consisting of 60 people. The Agency Board meets monthly to act on Park policy issues and permit applications. Agency Board meetings take place the second Thursday and Friday of each month and are open to the public.
